SCS Annual Group Meeting 2024

We recently held our annual group meeting in Leeds. We would like to thank all our employees for their input on the day and their continued hard work and commitment throughout the last financial year. We would also like to thank our keynote speaker Ric Moylan for sharing his many years of experience as a motivator and performance coach in the world of fitness and professional sport. We are looking forward to delivering another successful year for the business.

Normanton Food Bank 2023

Thank you to everyone at SCS Building Solutions for donating food supplies for the Normanton Food Reverse Advent Calendar Appeal this year. Normanton Food Bank provide three days’ emergency food and support to the local men, women and children in crisis.

Christmas Jumper Day 2023

This year, SCS Building Solutions are taking part in the Save The Children Christmas Jumper Day! Christmas Jumper Day is Save the Children's annual event which raises money for the children who need it most. Christmas Jumper Day has raised over £35 million for children in the UK and around the world since it began in 2012!

Movember 2023

Thank you to everyone at SCS who has taken part in Movember to help raise money for the Willow Foundation. Willow is the only national charity working with seriously ill -16 to 40 year olds to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable Special Days. Days which help to create a positive experience at a time when it's most needed.

Leeds Half Marathon 2023

In May 2023, Ebony Tilston Contracts Administrator here at SCS took on the personal challenge of participating in the Leeds Half Marathon to help raise valuable funds for Yorkshire Cancer Research. Ebony showed great commitment and perseverance to her training and successfully completed the run raising over £900 for her chosen charity. A huge well-done Ebony on your achievement from all the SCS team.

Rob Burrow Marathon 2023

We are proud to celebrate the achievement of Ryan Jones, a SCS Quantity Surveyor for his determination and effort in completing the Rob Burrows Marathon in May this year. Ryan alongside friends took on the challenge to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research & The Alzheimer’s Society which are both truly amazing charities. Successfully raising just short of £2,000 which is a fantastic credit to them all. “The reasons for choosing these charities are due to the illnesses being relatable to so many other people. Also, with my Dad passing away at the age of 32.” A massive well-done Ryan, on your accomplishment from everyone at SCS. We look forward to supporting you in your next fundraising endeavor.

50 Miles in October

Throughout October, Alan, Andrew and Craig have ran a total of 150 Miles to raise money for Prostate Cancer Research, raising over £750. A massive congratulations from all of us at SCS.

SCS Movember 2023

Help SCS - Donate Now
SCS males are taking part in Movember to raise money for the Willow Foundation in memory of Kate Hutchinson who joined SCS back in 2007. Sadly in 2019 Kate was diagnosed with Cancer, after a short battle she passed away during Covid in 2020. All proceeds are to go the Willow Foundation. Willow is the only national charity working with seriously ill -16 to 40 year olds to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable Special Days. Days which help to create a positive experience at a time when it's most needed. With your help SCS will purchasing another Silver Leaf on the Hope and Memories Willow Tree, which will fund a special break. Our target will be £600 for a leaf.

Craig B – Supply Chain Supervisor

Congratulations to our very own Craig Brierley who won the Supply Chain Supervisor of the Year from Willmott Dixon for his fantastic work on Manchester City College Campus.

SCS Group Meeting

We held our annual SCS Meeting at Hatfield Hall, it was a fantastic turn out and attendance. We look forward to an afternoon of tea, food and drinks to follow! Thank you to everyone at SCS for attending.

Barlow Village Community Volunteering

Members of the SCS Team spent the day helping at the Barlow Village Community Project. The Team assisted with sanding down existing playground equipment and repainting them, planting trees and much more. Thank you to all the SCS staff that volunteered to help, we cannot wait to see the end results!

Willow – Special Days

SCS donated to the Willow Foundation in memory of our own Kate Hutchinson. The charity helped make Kates time with her family even more special. Days which help to create a positive experience at a time when it's most needed."

Altofts Juniors Sponsorship

SCS Building Solutions are proud to provide sponsorship for a new away football kit for the Altofts Juniors Under 7’s.

Foodbank Donation

SCS have donated £200 of food to Grahams for York Foodbank.

The Whitechapel Centre

Working with Lendlease on the Potato Wharf Project Manchester, SCS have donated goods to The Whitechapel Centre

Andrew Walton 3 Peaks

Andrew Walton took part in the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on the 9th October 2021 in partnership with Morgan Sindall.

Kates Bike Ride

SCS undertook a Bike Ride from Liverpool - Leeds and back again on the 22nd July 2020 in aid of a close friend and colleague, Kate Hutchinson. We managed to raise over £22,000 which Kate and her family decided to invest in a Camper Van to spend some precious time together, before sadly passing away in the October.

SCS is Helping to Save the Planet by Reducing our Carbon Footprint.

Here at SCS we are aiming to reduce our Carbon Footprint, we are doing this by Switching our Company Car Fleet to Hybrid or Fully Electric Vehicles. WE have also installed Electric Charing points at Head Office to support the new change in Energy Efficient Mobility.

SCS Volunteer Work – 2022

SCS joined Grahams Construction on their recent Volunteering Day with the Canal & River Trust. As a part of everyone's responsibility to the community, they prepped and resurfaced a section of the Sheffield & Tinsley Canal.

Macmillan Hopes & Dreams Charity Ball

On the 29th October SCS attended the Macmillan Charity Ball at York Race Course. The Event has raised £130,000 for Macmillan.

Kate Hutchinson – Hope and Memories Willow Tree

As part of our continued commitment to support The Willow Foundation SCS Building Solutions have Donated £600 towards a silver leaf on the Hope and Memories Willow Tree in loving memory of our dearest friend Kate Hutchinson. The silver leaf goes towards funding a special Break for a young person who is suffering from cancer, so they can take the opportunity to spend some much needed time with loved ones.
